Core Exercises As a Supplement to Your Fitness Program

06 Apr

Fitness is the key to a long and healthy life. Regular exercise adds years to your lifespan, boosts your immune system, reduces the risk of coronary heart disease, and helps prevent many diseases that will dramatically decrease your quality of life at a later stage in life. There are plenty of ways you can keep fit. You can go for a walk or jog in the morning. You can go for a swim in the pool in the summer or go for a tennis or badminton game in the winter.

But the best way to exercise and stay fit is through an At home workout plan. This includes walking, jogging, and swimming or cycling on a daily basis. It can be as simple as brisk walking around the block every morning. But if you have the determination and the time, a more intense exercise routine can help you improve your health and fitness. This includes strength training, endurance exercises, and flexibility training.

Strength training increases your muscle mass, which enables you to have more energy and you can move more freely. Strength training also helps build muscle tone and makes your bones stronger. Endurance exercises to improve your cardiovascular fitness by decreasing your heart rate and increasing your metabolic rate. Flexibility exercises include yoga, Pilates, tai chi, jazzercise, running or walking and bicycling. A combination of these activities provides a fitness program that can benefit your heart health, body tone and flexibility, and improve your balance.

Balance exercises improve your mental fitness and physical fitness. They improve your awareness of where your body is in space, how to control it, and what needs to be done to correct it. Balance exercises can include dance, martial arts, gymnastics, swimming, hiking, skating or even just doing pushups. Yoga, Pilates, Tai Chi and Zumba can also help you improve your balance. Physical fitness and balance exercises can be a part of your Fitness program or an addition to it.

Aerobic activity is another important component of a fitness program. It can be done outside with the family, or it can be incorporated into your exercise program at home. Many people prefer to walk, as they can do it anytime and anywhere they want. Walking can be a light weight, cardiovascular exercise that strengthens the legs, lungs and heart.

Fitness and physical fitness programs are a crucial part of maintaining a healthy weight and staying in shape. These activities improve bone density, increase your metabolism, help with joint mobility, burn calories and increase overall wellness. It doesn't matter if you are pregnant, elderly, or just beginning a fitness program, it doesn't matter if you are overweight or obese, low fitness does not equal low energy. Maintaining a healthy weight requires eating a balanced diet, regular moderate intensity aerobic exercise and regular core strength training. See page, visit
